Join Andreas Bathory on an exclusive heritage journey through the ancestral lands of the House of Báthory, one of the most powerful noble dynasties in European history.
For more than three centuries, the Báthory family shaped the destiny of Transylvania, Hungary, Poland and Upper Hungary. Princes, kings, military commanders and nobles emerged from this remarkable lineage.
This small-group expedition follows their footsteps from Transylvania to Hungary and Slovakia, visiting castles, churches, ancestral residences, burial sites and locations connected to Stephen Báthory, Gabriel Báthory, Anna Báthory and Elizabeth Báthory.

DAY 1
CLUJ-NAPOCA
Arrival in Cluj-Napoca.
Evening Walking Tour:
• Casa Filstich-Kemény
• St. Michael’s Church
• Historic Old Town
Welcome Dinner.

“The Rise of the House of Báthory”

DAY 2
CLUJ-NAPOCA
A relaxed day exploring medieval Cluj.
Topics:
• Anna Báthory
• Gabriel Báthory
• The role of Cluj in the Principality of Transylvania

DAY 3
ȘIMLEU SILVANIEI
Visit:
Báthory Castle
The principal residence of the Somlyó branch of the family and one of the most important surviving Báthory monuments.
Catholic Church of Șimleu Silvaniei
Stephen Báthory (1533–1586)
Born in Șimleu Silvaniei, he became Prince of Transylvania, King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania.

Relaxed exploration day.

DAY 5
NYÍRBÁTOR, HUNGARY
The spiritual center of the Báthory dynasty.
Visit:
• Reformed Church
• Báthory Bell Tower
• Báthory Museum
• Family memorials and burial traditions
Many members of the dynasty are commemorated here, making Nyírbátor one of the most important Báthory pilgrimage sites.

DAY 6
NAGYECSED
Excursion to Ecsed.
The ancestral lands of the Ecsed branch of the family.
Historical Presentation:
Elizabeth Báthory (1560–1614)
The most famous member of the dynasty spent part of her youth on the Ecsed estates before marrying Ferenc Nádasdy.
Return to Nyírbátor.

DAY 7
ČACHTICE, SLOVAKIA
Travel to Slovakia.
Arrival and relaxation.
A symbolic dinner at a restaurant carrying the Báthory name.

DAY 8
ČACHTICE CASTLE
The most famous site associated with Elizabeth Báthory.
Historical Presentation:
“Elizabeth Báthory: Myth, Legend and Reality”
Explore:
• Castle ruins
• Historical exhibits
• Village of Čachtice

DAY 9
ČACHTICE
Relaxed exploration day.
Options:
• Castle photography
• Hiking
• Local wine tasting
• Historical discussions
This extra day allows guests to enjoy the atmosphere rather than rushing through the location.

DAY 10
ORADEA, ROMANIA
Return to Romania.
Free evening in Oradea.
Farewell Banquet.

DAY 11
CLUJ-NAPOCA
Transfer to Cluj Airport.
End of Tour.
